Maintaining for "Freshness" and Visability

Not all Websites need consistent maintenance. Those that hope to acquire and maintain traffic to their sites or whose information is consistantly changing can benefit from monitoring the visits to their various pages and enhancing content accordingly. These types of Websites can profit greatly by understanding what information potential customers are viewing and enabling the webmaster to better tune to maximize exposure and streamline content.

As a general rule of thumb you can say that the more important the need to increase and maintain customers the more important is monitoring and maintenance.

Maintenance can be performed in several ways.

  1. By event – Normally used with sites that rarely change and are monitored be the site owner or designated representative.  Events are generally billed at a higher rate as they tend to interrupt the normal development and maintenance cycle of existing clientele.
  2. By contract - This is for professionals or organizations whose website is frequently visited and is an integral part of a sales and/or informational process.  This is generally the most economical and traditional strategy.
  3. By schedule – viewed on specific dates throughout the year with reports and recommendations.
  4.

All are negotiated rates that are based upon the potential amount of work deemed necessary for a particular site.
